Nordheimer Lake is located in the Klamath Mountains. All year is a tremendous time in the Klamath Mountains if you love the outdoors. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Salmon River - South Fork, and if you've had enough of Nordheimer Lake, Red Cap Lake is nearby. High temperatures at Nordheimer Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer       temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Nordheimer Lake dip into the 30's. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Klamath Mountains. There are plenty of people from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna here at Nordheimer Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River, and if you came to camp Oak Bottom Campground is a tremendous                  place to do that. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great globe it would be. The Salmon Summit Recreation Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close to Nordheimer Lake, and the summit of Indian Rocks can be distinguished from Nordheimer Lake. Going for a hike on the Garden Gulch Trail is always a fine adventure. There's so much to do here at Nordheimer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pearch Creek Campground is a pleasant site for that. This lake is so wonderful. There is a magnificent hiking trail right next door to Nordheimer Lake called the Horse Ridge National Scenic Trail, and High Spring is always fun to check out.
