All the outdoors cool things right next door to New Melones Lake will keep you coming back over and over. Dry warm beds await you at Angels Inn Motel; Stanislaus River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. After a long day outdoors Best Western Cedar Inn & Suites is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and it's a delightful idea to visit Angels Creek. This lake is so wonderful.       You don’t have to go far from New Melones Lake to observe the water at New Melones Dam; a good location to visit close by is Bean Gulch. Camping at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort is always a perfect experience, and the peak of Bostick Mountain can be spotted from New Melones Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Peoria Basin is a good place, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Tulloch Reservoir. Not much precipitation falls                  here at New Melones Lake; through the month of January you get the most rain around here while July is typically the driest month. New Melones Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Frogtown RV Park and Calaveras is a nice local campground. Lakes are pleasant; O'Neil Reservoir is a lake that's next to New Melones Lake. Summer at New Melones Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's.
