From Nellie Lake you acquire a fine vista of Jump Off Point, and not far from Nellie Lake you'll find Upper       Horsethief Lake which is a stunning lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Through the summer at Nellie Lake temperatures are usually in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 50's; night lows during the wintertime for Nellie Lake tend to be in the 30's. Going for a hike on the Deep Creek Trail is always a good adventure,                  and in case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Joaquin River. So much entertaining stuff to do at Nellie Lake, so little time. Near Nellie Lake you come across the Red Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail, and Coarsegrass Meadow is right here at Nellie Lake. Nellie Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Billy Creek Lower - Sierra National Forest is a great campground nearby.
