Do stop by Needle Lake while you're in this part of California. Needle Lake mostly gets lots of rain; January is the wettest month with most rain; the driest of the months is July. Needle Lake really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Squaw Valley since you're here, and if you came for an overnight stay Onion Creek Campground is a fine spot to camp. A tremendous nearby hotel is Plumpjack

| | Squaw Valley Inn. Lakes are glorious; Five Lakes is a lake that's next to Needle Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the good skiing at Alpine Meadows, and paddling on Yuba River - South Fork is so much fun. At Needle Lake during the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Needle Lake are in the 20's.

Lake is right by the Five Lakes Creek Trail, and Granite Chief is clearly visible from Needle Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Needle Lake;
Painted Rock Trail is a nice local trail; why not stop at close by Chief Creek since you're here at Needle Lake. So many entertaining things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just incredible. The Granite Chief Trail offers hiking at
its best, and why not camp at Talbot Campground while you're here at Needle Lake.
Needle Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Squaw Valley Lodge is a brilliant location to spend a night or two, and get dripping wet paddling on Truckee River.
