     This lake is located in the wonderful Sierra Madre. All the outdoors enjoyable things near Murietta Dam will keep you coming back over and over. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Carpinteria Inn, and if you came for an overnight stay Murietta Campground is a good spot to camp. If time allows, Channel Islands National Park is a national park worth visiting, and there's nice hiking along the Monte Arido Trail.

   to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Sierra Madre. Here at Murietta Dam you'll in all probability meet some people from Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura. Lakes? Sure, Jameson Lake is in close proximity. The Ocean View Trail offers hiking at its best, and Ventura Oaks RV Park is a delightful campground nearby. Murietta Dam is a location that is relatively dried up typically; February is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
 
               Summer at Murietta Dam arrives with high temperatures in the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 60's while the cold winter nights at Murietta Dam are in the 30's. That right there is lots of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Sierra Madre has it all. On a lovely day you acquire a sight of Divide Peak from Murietta Dam, and Jameson Lake is a pleasant lake close by. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Carpinteria is a magnificent place to get some rest; Murietta Dam is right by the Rincon Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. You might want to pay a visit to Murietta Divide while you're here at Murietta Dam.

Hi, please take a look at the attached photo.  I took it today in La Jolla Canyon, at the water fall (dry now).  Notice that a large rock appears to be loose and or without support.  It looks like the rock is supporting the trail above.  Someone should take a closer look at that rock.  In heavy rain it could come down.  It looks unstable....
