     California has many beautiful lakes and Mud Lake is one of them. There's whitewater on Salmon River - North Fork for all you adrenaline kick people; don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Tanners Peak Trail. Be careful coming to Mud Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. Get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Salmon River - South Fork, and there's perfect hiking along the Deacon Lee Trail. Man, is there a heap  
   of cool stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains. Stay the night at Little North Fork Campground, and Jones Lake is a brilliant lake nearby.
A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Mud Lake; December is when you get the most rain here; July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is located in the wonderful Klamath Mountains. Through the warmest time of the year at Mud Lake temperatures are commonly in the 90's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. Red Bank Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop at Picayune Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Near Mud Lake you hit upon pleasant places like Boulder Gulch, and there are great sites to discover along the Garden Gulch Trail.
