If you come at the right time of year, Yuba River - North Fork offers some wonderful whitewater, and why not a little side spree to Church Creek. Chalet View Lodge is a brilliant site to get some rest, and scenic scenery and magnificent skiing is what you get at Royal Gorge. There's some exciting stuff to spot at Packer Dam near Mud Lake, and one of the principal       traits of the surroundings of Mud Lake is Sierra Buttes. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Mud Lake highs are generally in the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Mud Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable things to do in the                  Northern Sierra Nevada. Not far from Mud Lake, you'll stumble on Dugan Pond which is a beautiful lake, and Packsaddle Campground is a good local campground. Any time is a nice time at Mud Lake if you adore the outdoors. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Lavezzola Creek, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Deer Lake Trail. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Mud Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Deer Creek Inn. There are other spots here than Mud Lake, for example Saxonia Lake; if you came for an overnight stay Berger Campground is a nice location to camp. Mud Lake is a good site of common precipitation; during January this area sees the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Lusk Meadows is a good spot to check out, and close by you locate the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 which is a fine hiking trail. You just have to fancy the Northern Sierra Nevada.
