Mud Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Mud Lake in fact is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. There's whitewater on Feather River - North Fork for all you adrenaline people; a fine nearby hotel is Best Western Rose Quartz Inn. All year is a good time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you go for the outdoors. Spend the day on the beach at Catfish Beach since you're here at Mud Lake. | | you need to camp here for a while, Leisure Trailer Park is a great place for that. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. While you're here at Mud Lake, you could also stop at delightful Rock Lake, and don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Lassen Trail. Lake Almanor is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and you can go for a hike on the Yellow Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. | |

If you need a spot to stay Bailey Creek Cottages is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Feather River - North Fork in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and great hiking is available along the Carter Meadow
Trail. For the period of the summer months at Mud Lake highs are mostly in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures

 | 19 miles away We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything. ... |
