so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Go for a hike on the Lassen Trail, and Feather River - North Fork is a great whitewater spot nearby. The yearly precipitation here at Mud Lake is about average; November is the month that gets
the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Good hiking is available along the Carter Meadow Trail, and do pay a visit to Lassen Volcanic National Park if you're here at Mud Lake. For the duration of the summertime
highs here at Mud Lake get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Mud Lake drop into
the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll come across a beautiful lake called Rock Lake near Mud Lake, and going for a hike on the Yellow Creek Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.

Potato Patch Campground
 | 19 miles away We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything. ... |
