Jacks Meadow Creek is near Mud Lake and is always a bliss to explore, and going for a hike on the Finger Board Trail is always a nice adventure. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too glorious to be true. You'll discover a picturesque lake called Gold Lake near Mud Lake. Mud Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; January is when you get the most snow here, and       the driest of the months is July. Summer at Mud Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Mud Lake. What a location this is for outdoors folks. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Rose Quartz Inn, and you can stay the night at White Horse Campground. Bucks Lake Marina is a great campground nearby; there                  are some good whitewater spots on Feather River - North Fork. Man, is there plenty of exciting things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lakes are such serene spots, why not have a look at Rock Lake close to Mud Lake; close by you stumble on the Claremont Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful.
