Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Hellgrammite Lake, and delightful scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Royal Gorge. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Chalet View Lodge is a glorious choice, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 offers hiking at its best. Fern Falls is a wonderful site to stop at while you're at Mud Lake,       and why not take a refreshing hike along the Deer Lake Trail. A typical amount of rain falls here at Mud Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is July. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. The vista of Mount Elwell from Mud Lake is scenic, and camping at Upper Jamison Campground is always a great experience. For the period of the warmest time of the                  year, highs generally are in the 90's at Mud Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Mud Lake through the winter mostly dip into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. A great place like Lakes Basin here at Mud Lake is too nice to miss; for you golfers we recommend close by The Golf Club at Whitehawk Ranch. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Lavezzola Creek, and do take a hike on the Eureka Lake Trail. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is plentiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lakes? Sure, Silver Lake is around here, and camping is available at Movin' West Trailer Ranch.
