The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. A great nearby hotel is Chalet View Lodge; you can run the rapids of Fordyce Creek. What a place this is for outdoors folks. You'll discover a scenic lake called Jackson Lake near Mud Lake, and you're sure to run into some wonderful people from Truckee-Grass Valley here. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. While you're here at Mud Lake,       you could also have a look at lovely Sawmill Lake, and the vista of charming Findley Peak is magnificent. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Royal Gorge and strap some skis to your feet. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Jackson Creek Campground is a splendid place for that. Mud Lake in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Mud Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Canyon Creek Campground                  is a good local campground; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Glacier Lakes Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Yuba River - South Fork is a great whitewater spot in close proximity to Mud Lake, and nearby you hit upon the Crooked Lakes Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail. At Mud Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 90's while night lows are ordinarily in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while Mud Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Do set aside some time for Austin Meadow since you're here at Mud Lake, and Deer Creek Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. So many amusing things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just striking. The annual rain here at Mud Lake is about average; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is mostly the driest month. All year is a brilliant time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you go for the outdoors. It's always brilliant to check out Damfine Spring; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Jackson Creek.
