Good hiking is available along the Pine Creek Trail. After a long day outdoors Best Western Trailside Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two; why not stop by close by West Valley Creek since you're here at Mud Lake. Go for a hike on the Poison Flat Trail, and Mud Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Little Meadows       Campground is a glorious local campground. High temperatures at Mud Lake through the summertime months are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are usually in the 40's, and night lows in the 10's for Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the East Creek Trail, unsurprisingly you could also visit Flournoy Reservoir if you're here; it's                  not far at all. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great earth it would be. If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Alturas is a brilliant choice. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Likely Place Recreational Vehicle Park & Golf is a pleasant location for that.
