What a nice lake Mud Lake is. You'll stumble on a wonderful lake called Hagmaier Pond South near Mud Lake; Wildcat Beach is a beach nearby that you can take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. There is a delightful hiking trail in the vicinity of Mud Lake called the Greenpicker Trail; do pay a visit to Muir Woods National Monument while you're here at Mud Lake. After a long day outdoors Mill Valley Inn is a great site to spend a night or two, and if you came for an overnight stay Lower Campground is a perfect place to camp. Firtop can be distinguished from Mud Lake, and beaches are perfect and Palomarin Beach is no exception. Through the summer months at Mud Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. the 40's. Through the winter highs are commonly in the 50's while Mud Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's.
A journey to Cottinham Gulch is always fun, and if the weather is glorious, you can
go for a hike along the Bolema Trail. Mud Lake gets lots of water; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is generally the driest month. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do in the vicinity
of Mud Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Four Points By Sheraton San Rafael, and lakes are such peaceful locations, why not stop by Bass Lake. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a
great world it would be. Mill Pond Dam is worth taking a look at if you're here, and camping is available at Glen Campground.
