If you are in Humboldt county it's always a good idea to stop by Mud Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Mud Lake a quite wet spot; throughout the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. At Mud Lake you always meet someone from Eureka-Arcata-Fortuna, and locations like Buck Flat are delightful to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. The Dan East Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you come at the right time of year, Redwood Creek offers some fine whitewater. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake. A gorgeous lake like Clear Lake next to Mud Lake is a magnificent spot to explore, and glorious hiking is available along the Grouse Creek Tractor Way. generally in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Mud Lake.
Having a fine time in the Coast Ranges
is easy. A tremendous nearby hotel is Tsewenaldin Inn, and Bottleneck Spring is always fun to check out. This lake is so wonderful. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Mad River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around
Mud Lake; Grouse Creek Tractor Trail is a wonderful local trail.
But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Coast Ranges. If you came for an overnight stay Lazy Double B Park is a pleasant site to camp; if you want to visit some exciting stuff, visit Black Rock. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges.
