    Mud Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Mud Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork, and while you're here at Mud Lake, checking out Slick Rock is a must. Hit the slopes at Bear Valley nearby, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Charity Valley Trail.
 
   Why not visit nearby Bear Creek if you're here at Mud Lake; since you're here you can take a hike along the Emigrant Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant trip to Sapps Meadow is a splendid way to spend an afternoon, and Stanislaus River - Middle Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the neighborhood of Mud Lake. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Kirkwood. You'll need more  
               than a day to look at everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Overflow Campground.
Throughout the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 60's at Mud Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Mud Lake. Mud Lake is a glorious location to camp, Stanislaus River Campground is a glorious location, and Sapps Hill is charming and can be spotted from here. What a place this is for outdoors folks. There are other places here than Mud Lake, for example Lion Lake.
And that's not all there is to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Corral Gulch is a tremendous spot to check out close by; if you need a place to stay Lodge at Bear Valley is a magnificent choice. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds await you at Bear Valley Lodge, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is a nice hiking trail nearby. Much rainfall falls at Mud Lake; most of the snow falls all through January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
