This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Pine Cone Acre Motel, and you can go for a hike on the Windmiller Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you come at the right time of year, American River - South Fork offers some great whitewater, and going for a hike on the Hawley Grade Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay       Bear River Lake Resort is a perfect location to camp, and skiing at Bear Valley is one of those things you just should do. Much rain falls at Mud Lake; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July is commonly the driest month. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mokelumne River - North Fork, and Tragedy Spring is always fun to check out. A journey to Long Valley invigorates the spirit, and Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a great spot                  to get some rest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Mud Lake. Shealor Lakes is a delightful lake in the neighborhood of Mud Lake, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Emigrant Trail. Tragedy Spring Campground is a good local campground, and close by you discover good sites like Porthole Gap. Mud Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a glorious time here at Mud Lake. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Mud Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
