If you are in this part of California make sure to pay a visit to Mud Lake. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. While you're here at Mud Lake you can take a hike along the Windmiller Trail; Best Tahoe West Inn is a wonderful location to get some rest. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. | | Valley is a glorious local ski area.
Mud Lake gets lots of water; during the month of January you get the most snow around here; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Tragedy Spring Campground, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Hawley Grade Trail.
Put some time aside to spend at Tragedy Spring if you're here at Mud Lake; do take a hike on the Emigrant Trail. In the event that you don’t | |

have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mokelumne River - North Fork, and do set aside some time for Long Valley since you're here at Mud Lake. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. A
great location to camp here at Mud Lake is Bear River Lake Resort, and the skiing at Kirkwood is wonderful.
Summertime highs at Mud Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The
winter brings highs down to the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Porthole Gap is a good place to look at; if you need a place to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a delightful choice.
