Mountain Meadow Lake is a nice lake to visit. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This site rules, just look at all the amusing stuff to do near Mountain Meadow Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Yuba River - South Fork; there's brilliant hiking along the Big Spring Trail. So much entertaining stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just remarkable. Don't forget to take a perfect little spree to Chief Creek, and the peak of Billys Peak

| | can be made out from Mountain Meadow Lake. Mountain Meadow Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Splitrock Campground is a fine local campground, and there are other sites here than Mountain Meadow Lake, for example Shirley Lake. And that's not all there is to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The skiing at Squaw Valley is great, and don't leave Mountain Meadow Lake without first going for a hike along the Granite Chief Trail. This lake | |

is so wonderful. If you came to camp Bear Creek Campground is a glorious place to do that, and Squaw Valley Lodge is a good location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Alpine Meadows,
and tremendous hiking is available along the Painted Rock Trail. A perfect close by hotel is Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn; lakes are such peaceful sites, why not stop at Needle Lake. During the days of summer at Mountain Meadow Lake
highs are regularly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Mountain Meadow Lake sink into the 20's. Mountain Meadow
Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; January is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. There are some good whitewater spots on Truckee River.
