Mountain Lake is George Washington Bicentennial Grove, and Ignatius Heights is clearly visible from Mountain Lake. Kirby Cove Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and do schedule some time to take a look at Fort Point if
you have a chance. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mountain Lake a wet spot; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July. Since you're here at Mountain Lake why
not stop at Anita Rock; Mountain Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Edventure More is a good place to camp nearby. Going for a hike on the Ben Johnson Trail is always a perfect adventure, and playing golf is lots
of fun at Presidio Golf Course. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Mountain Lake, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down
to the 50's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Mountain Lake tend to be in the 30's. Just can't get enough of Mountain Lake. This is a magnificent region for people who like lakes. Stow Lake is a lake in close proximity, and dropping by Golden Gate National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.

Camping Trips
 | I have had the displeasure of staying at a campsite called Coloma Resort on the South Fork of the American River. If you're not a church group or over 65 this place is not for you. We were harassed by the management constantly and were told to go to bed at 10:00pm on a Saturday night. Nothing in their rules said laughing and the Beatles were not allowed. This is the type of place that will tell you what you want to hear just to get your money. The campsite was extremely crowded even the 3rd week of August. My advice is to go else where, anywhere else but here!... |
