Summer at Mosquito Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows during the wintertime for Mosquito Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit American River - South Fork, and you can go for a hike on the Charity Valley Trail. These mountains rock, just       explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Bear Valley, and Mosquito Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Plasse's Resort is a great local campground. And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do close to Mosquito Lake. The Meadow is a brilliant place to get some rest, and camping at Bear River Lake Resort is always a great experience. This lake                  is so wonderful. Long Valley is a wonderful site; if you're here, you could also go to pretty Cole Creek Lakes. Dry warm beds await you at Meadowstone, and going for a hike on the Emigrant Trail is always a wonderful adventure. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mosquito Lake a wet spot; January is when you get the most snow here while July is frequently the driest month. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. Do check out Pardoe Lake near Mosquito Lake, it's a delightful lake, and glide down the rapids of Mokelumne River - North Fork in a kayak.
