Duane: This lake is the good trout fishing all the time. Try power bait or a worm and a marshmellow green or yellow.
Beautiful! That is all that needs to be said! No photo shop to this picture this is all natural. Taken 2007 mid summer.

| | Mosquito Lake a reasonably wet place; January is when you get the most snow here while July is ordinarily the driest month. At Mosquito Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 70's while overnight lows are commonly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Mosquito Lake fall into the 10's. This is such a fun lake. Clark Fork Campground
 | 10 miles away The Clark Fork Campground has a number of nice sites. Most of the campers have trailers or RVs. The campground has pit toilets that are clean and relatively pleasant. There is a shower facility--bring plenty of quarters for your shower. The fishing in the Clark Fork River is good. The Forest Service plants trout every week. There are plenty of nice side creeks such as Cloudburst and Arnot that are good fishing too. The hike up the trail along the upper Clark Fork to the waterfall is a very nice hike. You will enjoy Clark Fork campground. My family for three generations and over 50 years has been camping here.... |

Sand Flat Campground
 | 13 miles away Went there for the first time. It's definitely on the 'go back again' list. The road down is pretty rough. My explorer handled it with zero problem. I ran it in 2wd mode on the way back up just to make sure that a normal car could make it. The key to the road, known to the locals as 'Wolfboro road' is to take it very slow. Shift into low, and just let gravity lead you into camp. When I went, there were 2 'crossings' where you had to go into water. The water is not deep, just don't go plowing through and you'll be fine. On my way out, I was met with a Mitsubishi sedan making his way down. He was doing fine, although he was having to keep his speeds below 5mph... |
