This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Morris Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Morris Lake. If you get bored of Morris Lake, you could also explore close by Long Lake, and Injun Jim Campground is a good campground nearby.
That right there is a load of amusing stuff already

but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. Campbell Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and dry warm beds await you at Bailey Creek Cottages. Go for a hike on the Yellow Creek Trail, and you can run the rapids of Feather River - North Fork. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return home again. Mount Hope can be distinguished from Morris Lake, and a great site for whitewater paddling is Feather River
               - North Fork.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Morris Lake without first going for a hike along the Carter Meadow Trail. Lots of rainfall falls at Morris Lake; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at James Lee Campground, and there's splendid hiking along the Lassen Trail.
If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Morris Lake. Places like Oliver Flat are perfect to visit, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Rose Quartz Inn is a fine choice.

Cool Springs is generally open from early May through mid-September. The heaviest use is between mid-June through mid-August. Butt Lake is a great fishing lake. Potato Patch Campground
15 miles away
We camp at Potato Patch campground annually with several other families. It is a very nice campground on a beautiful river. There is not a lot to do nearby though and it is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no showers. There are no hookups for RVs, but we tent camp anyway. We mostly play by the river (very cold water). Our attraction is the beauty and the people we camp with. We used to fish, but it is all catch and release. I can definitely recommend it but you have to be looking for a relaxing and beautiful setting and mostly doing not much of anything.
