    Morgan Reservoir is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. So many enjoyable things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just inspiring. If you're visiting Morgan Reservoir from Chico, you won't be the only one, and a short spree to Dutch Pete Spring is always worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Feather West Travel Trailer if you're here at Morgan Reservoir, and you can run the rapids of Feather River - North Fork. Morgan  
   Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You're perhaps into lakes, Tom Jones Reservoir is one of those nearby, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Butte Creek. Man, is there a load of cool stuff to do next to Morgan Reservoir. A nice location to camp here at Morgan Reservoir is Goat Ranch Campground; obviously, this is a tremendous area for people
 
               who like lakes, Littlefield Reservoir is a lake in close proximity. Everybody loves Campbell Flat; if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Central is a delightful choice.
From a rain point of view Morgan Reservoir is a quite normal location; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is typically the driest month. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Morgan Reservoir. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Morgan Reservoir.
Near Morgan Reservoir you locate a golf course called Kelly Ridge Golf Course, and a good nearby hotel is Oroville-Days Inn. This lake is so wonderful. A nice spot to have a look at near Morgan Reservoir is Spring Valley Gulch, and the summit of North Table Mountain can be spotted from Morgan Reservoir.

... like an all out Butte Co. Ad. All that stuff is great though and easy to get to. As for Horseshoe Lake itself, it's very small, with poor fishing. It has a small dock, an indoor gun range, a humble yet awesome space observatory, and the golf course running behind all of it. Also bathrooms,  parking, water, dog poop bags, line recyclers. On the Lake's side of the road, it is legal to have your dog off-leash as long as he is 'under control'. Local dogs love it here and they all seem very friendly. The real beauty is the surrounding area of Bidwell Park. The trails going from there into Upper Park, run along both sides of the creek, and make for a very easy walk. There's fantastic scenery as you get closer to Salmon Hole, a very popular swimming spot, but the ''climb'' down to those calm waters amid the turbulent creek is a little steep for children and less sure footed people. Stick along the edge of the canyon as it gradually rises and you'll be treated to a nice sunset over the way you just came, with the winding canyon and it's white waters.
