There are some fine whitewater spots on Stanislaus River - North Fork. Lake Moran is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Lake Moran regularly gets much rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July. If you need a location to stay The Meadow is a perfect choice, unsurprisingly you could also stop at Swamp Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer.
