This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Southern Cascade Range. At Proctor Creek Dam close to Moon Springs Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and getting to Procter       Creek from Moon Springs Reservoir is easy. Through the warm months, highs regularly are in the 90's at Moon Springs Reservoir while night lows are typically in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Moon Springs Reservoir. Moon Springs Reservoir is a good site of normal rainfall; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. There's                  great hiking along the Bunchgrass Trail, and Pit River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
