     The San Bernardino Mountains scenery is always beautiful. A great place to camp here at Moon Lake is Camp Seely La City Recreation; don't leave Moon Lake without first going for a hike along the McKinley Firebreak. Some close by water includes Dart Creek, and why not camp at Dogwood Campground if you're here at Moon Lake.
Yep, outdoors fun things truly is bountiful here in the San Bernardino Mountains. Huston Flat is right here at Moon Lake, and if you
 
   need a spot to stay North Bay At Lake Arrowhead is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. A lovely lake like Grass Valley Lake near Moon Lake is a great site to explore, and great hiking is available along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 6. The yearly precipitation here at Moon Lake is about average; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is June.
There's no way someone can get bored here in the San Bernardino
 
               Mountains. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not stop at Lake Gregory close to Moon Lake; you can go for a hike on the Miller Canyon Trail. At Moon Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Moon Lake are in the 20's. What a place this is for outdoors folks. The top of Red Rock Wall Point is easily spotted from Moon Lake, and a good close by hotel is LAKE ARROWHEAD RESORT.
This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Snow Valley is pleasant, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Shandin Hills Golf Club. Here at Moon Lake there are plenty of people from Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario.

Roundtrip Distance 16 miles
Elevation Gain 2,645 ft.
This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking. For these particular mountains, it is imperative that the hiker carry a compass (and know how to use it) and topographic map....
