This is a great lake in the Sierra foothills outside Fresno. It's a good windsurfing lake on stormy days although it gets very gusty. The best place to launch is on the east side of the lake. But if you're not windsurfing the west side is a lot nicer and less crowded with lots of big rocks and small scattered beaches. There's a small waterfall on the west side as well just a very short hike up the hill. Camping is on the west side as well.

Do stop by Millerton Lake while you're in this part of California. If you need a site to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Fresno Clovis is a magnificent choice, and Cottonwood Creek is in the neighborhood of Millerton Lake and is always a pleasure to stop by. San Joaquin River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can stay the night at Mono Campground. Throughout the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 80's at Millerton Lake with night lows in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Millerton Lake. This lake is so wonderful. is a great place to camp nearby. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Millerton Lake has it all. At Friant Dam in the neighborhood of Millerton Lake there are some interesting things to see, and Hills Cove is rather
close.
This lake is so wonderful. A trip to Yosemite National Park is recommended. Millerton Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is typically the driest month. A delightful nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Clovis. Lakes are nice; Lost Lake is a lake that's next to Millerton Lake.
