Millerton Lake, Fresno County, California     User input for Millerton Lake, Fresno County, California: Bob: This is a great lake in the Sierra foothills outside Fresno. It's a good windsurfing lake on stormy days although it gets very gusty. The best place to launch is on the east side of the lake. But if you're not windsurfing the west side is a lot nicer and less crowded with lots of big rocks and small scattered beaches. There's a small waterfall on the west side as well just a very short hike up the hill. Camping is on the west side as well. Millerton Lake is a pretty wet place ordinarily with a good deal of rainfall; January is the month that gets the most rain; July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side spree to Cottonwood Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Clovis Cole. Brighton Crest Country Club is a golf course near Millerton Lake; there are plenty of people from Fresno       here. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Millerton Lake. Comfort Suites Clovis is a great site to get some rest, and the top of Tick-Tack-Toe Hill is easily seen from Millerton Lake. Get wet paddling on San Joaquin River; do schedule some time to check out Hills Cove if you have a chance. This lake is so wonderful. Yosemite National Park is a wonderful local destination here at Millerton Lake, and if you came to camp Mono Campground                  is a brilliant spot to do that. Friant Dam is an interesting thing to check out. There's so much to do here at Millerton Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rocky Point Campground is a wonderful site for that. At Millerton Lake all through the summer highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's.
