There is a tremendous hiking trail close to Mill Pond called the Nevada Point Trail, and get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of American       River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful place to camp here at Mill Pond is Finnon Lake, and at Mill Pond you can make out Iowa Hill. All through the summer here at Mill Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 90's, and the night is fairly chillier of course, generally in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Mill Pond dip into the 30's. While you're                  here at Mill Pond, you could also go to pretty Larsen Reservoir. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A journey to Iowa Canyon is always fun, and camping is available at Bucks Bar Campground. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Do take a look at Blakeley Reservoir right next door to Mill Pond, it's a stunning lake, and there are perfect locations to look at along the Grizzly Canyon Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Camino Heights Golf Course is a splendid golf course nearby, and a pleasant location for whitewater paddling is Camp Creek. Mill Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; throughout January this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
