Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Big Spring Trail, and the snow is splendid at Alpine Meadows. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Five Lakes Creek Trail is tremendous fun; you can run the rapids of Yuba River - South Fork. Mildred Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Mildred Lakes is right by the Steamboat Trail; Picayune Valley       is a perfect location to check out. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is bountiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. At Mildred Lakes you can see Mount Mildred; camping is available at Hell Hole-In Campground. For the duration of the long summer days here at Mildred Lakes, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Mildred                  Lakes. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mildred Lakes a wet spot; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn is a glorious choice, and Silver Creek - South Fork is a delightful whitewater spot close by. Head up to Squaw Valley and strap some skis to your feet, and close by Heavens Gate is a wonderful place to go. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada.
