The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows at Middle Lake through the winter generally fall into the 20's. There are other spots here than Middle Lake, for example Shotgun Lake, and you can never get enough of the nice skiing at Royal Gorge. All year is a nice time in the Northern Sierra Nevada       if you fancy the outdoors. You're sure to encounter some fine folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here, and paddling on Fordyce Creek is so much fun. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Middle Lake; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. There are nice spots to explore along the Round Lake Trail, and a good nearby hotel is Deer Creek Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Visit                  South Fork Canyon Creek since you're here at Middle Lake; at Middle Lake you can catch a glimpse of Fall Creek Mountain. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Crooked Lakes is a fine lake in the neighborhood of Middle Lake; get soaked paddling on Yuba River - South Fork. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Having a magnificent time at Middle Lake is trouble-free. Going for a hike on the Crooked Lakes Trail is always a fine adventure, and a magnificent site to camp here at Middle Lake is Grouse Ridge Campground. After a long day outdoors Chalet View Lodge is a great spot to spend a night or two, and wonderful skiing awaits you at Soda Springs. All the outdoors cool stuff near Middle Lake will keep you coming back time and again.
