That right there is a heap of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Fordyce Creek, and Middle Lake is not far at all from Truckee-Grass Valley. Through the summer highs here at Middle Lake get into the 90's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. Highs through       the winter are typically in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Middle Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Middle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Canyon Creek Campground is a good site for that, and Yuba River - South Fork has a delightful whitewater paddling spot nearby. Everybody close by loves skiing at Royal                  Gorge; going for a hike on the Crooked Lakes Trail is always a tremendous adventure. And if you're still looking for more outdoors exciting things just keep reading. Looking for some flowing water? Try South Fork Canyon Creek, and don't leave Middle Lake without first going for a hike along the Bowman Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Fall Creek Mountain can be distinguished from Middle Lake, and Chalet View Lodge is a magnificent site to get some rest. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go home again. Stay the night at Grouse Ridge Campground, and there are good locations to look at along the Round Lake Trail. If you need a place to stay Deer Creek Inn is a brilliant choice; the slopes of Soda Springs are so inviting nobody can resist. The amount of rainfall that falls at Middle Lake is close to the national average; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
