There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Mono Creek, and if you came to camp Cold Water Campground is a nice spot to do that. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Very beautiful scenery and wonderful skiing is what you get at Mammoth Mountain, and if you've had enough of McLeod Lake, McCloud Lake is nearby. Going for a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail is always a nice adventure, and
a pleasant close by hotel is Snowbird Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge.
This lake is so wonderful. Near McLeod Lake you stumble on the Mammoth Rock Trail which is a great hiking trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. McLeod Lake gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; January is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. A journey to McLeod Lake wouldn't be complete

without taking a look at Twin Falls, and what would winter be without some skiing at June Mountain.
Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is peerless! Go for a hike on the John Muir Trail - section 2, and if you need a spot to stay Mammoth Mountain Inn is a delightful choice. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Central Sierra Nevada has to offer. You're almost certainly into lakes, Horseshoe Lake is one of those close by; do pay a visit to Devils Postpile National Monument since you're here at McLeod Lake. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here at McLeod Lake. A nice site to check out next to McLeod Lake is Mammoth Pass; Snowcreek Golf Course is a nice golf course nearby.
The view of pretty Crystal Crag near McLeod Lake is glorious, and McLeod Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Reds Meadow Campground is a fine local campground. For the period of the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 90's at McLeod Lake. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Highs through the winter are commonly in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at McLeod Lake dip into the 20's. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. The Thumb is a perfect site to have a look at while in the region, and Bottomless Pit is a splendid place. This lake is so wonderful.
