If you are in Placer county it's always a good idea to stop by McKinney Lake. McKinney Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at General Creek Campground; you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Lester Beach. Having a good time in the Northern Sierra Nevada is easy. Nearby lakes? Sure, Cliff Lake is in the vicinity of McKinney Lake; dry warm beds await you at Resort At Squaw Creek.

| | that's not all you can do here at McKinney Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit American River - South Fork, and Pepper Tree Inn is a good spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Really splendid skiing awaits you at Alpine Meadows, and you're in all probability into lakes, Stony Ridge Lake is one of those nearby. High temperatures at McKinney Lake during the warm months are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into | |

the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at McKinney Lake.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer.
You can never get enough of the delightful skiing at Homewood; if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Calawee Cove Beach. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Silver Creek - South Fork, and nearby you stumble on
the Highland Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. The Pacific Crest Trail - section 14 is a fine hiking trail close to McKinney Lake.
An average amount of rain falls at McKinney Lake; January is the wettest month with most
snow while July is typically the driest month. Why not camp at Meeks Bay Resort & Marina since you're here at McKinney Lake, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the General Creek Trail.
