After a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a splendid site to spend a night or two, and the summit of Isberg Peak can be observed from McGee Lake. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby June Mountain, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. Why not camp at Clover Meadow Campground while you're here at McGee Lake; going for a hike on the John Muir Trail - section 1 is always a glorious adventure. The yearly rainfall here at McGee Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily January, that's the one that rains the most, and August is when it's the driest. Lake is not the only site nearby, Sadler Lake is a nearby lake, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the John Muir Trail - section 2. Summertime at McGee Lake comes with high temperatures in the 90's with night lows in
the 50's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 40's; nighttime lows all through the wintertime for McGee Lake tend to be in the 20's. Looking for something close to McGee Lake? Isberg Lakes is in the vicinity, and
get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Tenaya Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Since you're here at McGee Lake why not explore Isberg Pass, and dry warm beds await you at Mammoth Mountain Inn. This lake is so wonderful.
Camping is available at Granite Creek Campground, and there are nice sites to discover along the Gaylor Lakes Trail. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful.
