Why not take a refreshing hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and whitewater paddling is great on San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. This lake is so wonderful. From McCloud Lake you obtain a brilliant sight of Crystal Crag, and Snowbird Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge is a glorious place to get some rest. High temperatures at McCloud Lake through the summer months are in the 90's. When the       night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while McCloud Lake night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. What a place this is for outdoors people. Near McCloud Lake you locate a golf course called Snowcreek Golf Course, and Cold Water Campground is a perfect local campground. Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the                  Central Sierra Nevada. Put some time aside to spend at Twin Falls while you're here at McCloud Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Horseshoe Lake. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is great! McCloud Lake is right by the John Muir Trail - section 2, and close by you stumble on Mammoth Pass which is a great location to check out. McCloud Lake is a good place of typical rainfall; through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is June. Get soaked paddling on Mono Creek, and Devils Postpile National Monument is a very glorious place to visit. Reds Meadow Campground is a glorious campground nearby, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at June Mountain if you're here. And if that's not enough there's heaps more fun stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Bottomless Pit is a brilliant location here at McCloud Lake, and skiing at Mammoth Mountain is one of those things you just must do. A cool spot to pop by in the vicinity of McCloud Lake is The Thumb, and a good nearby hotel is Mammoth Mountain Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around McCloud Lake; Mammoth Rock Trail is a perfect local trail. Lakes are nice; McLeod Lake is a lake that's near McCloud Lake. McCloud Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada.
