You might want to pay a visit to Cozy Dell Canyon since you're here at Matilija Lake; nearby you hit upon the Ortega Trail which is a fine hiking trail. And if that's not enough there's heaps more entertaining things to do in the Sierra Madre. There's so much to do here at Matilija Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Ortegea Campground is a great site for that, and       the Cozy Dell Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Matilija Lake. Just can't get enough of the Sierra Madre. Berry Flat is a good place here at Matilija Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sespe Creek. Matilija Lake is located in the Sierra Madre. For the period of the summertime months, highs generally are in the 70's at Matilija                  Lake while night lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 60's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Matilija Lake temperatures plunge to the 40's. Lakes are wonderful; Mirror Lake is a lake that's close to Matilija Lake; Matilija Dam is not far at all from Matilija Lake. This lake is so wonderful. All our national parks are good locations to pop by, and Channel Islands National Park is no exception; Ojai Valley Inn and Spa Golf Course is a golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Middle Matilija Campground is a wonderful location to do that, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Lake Casitas. Don't forget to take a pleasant little visit to Matilija Creek, and a great close by hotel is Emerald Iguana Inn. After a long day outdoors Ojai Rancho Inn is a pleasant site to spend a night or two, and going for a hike on the Pratt Trail is always a great adventure.
