     This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Be careful coming to Lake Margaret, you might not ever want to go back home again. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Mokelumne River - North Fork. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll meet a lot of folks from Gardnerville Ranchos here, and Caples Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a
 
   hike on the Windmiller Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and if you came for an overnight stay Kirwood Campground is a great location to camp. The summit of Martin Point can be made out from Lake Margaret; American River - South Fork has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Lake Margaret. There is a delightful hiking trail close to Lake Margaret called the Hawley Grade Trail, and good skiing awaits  
               you at Kirkwood.
Yep, outdoors entertaining things truly is bountiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A quick tour to Kirkwood Creek near Lake Margaret is a tremendous idea, and Caples Lake Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Do check out Kirkwood Lake near Lake Margaret, it's a striking lake, and after a long day outdoors Meadowstone is a splendid place to spend a night or two. For the period of the warm days of summer at Lake Margaret temperatures are generally in the 70's; the overnight is a bit chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are commonly in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Margaret dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
Lake Margaret sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July is regularly the driest month. Sierra at Tahoe has fine slopes and a friendly staff, and a glorious nearby hotel is The Meadow. Kirkwood Meadows is right here at Lake Margaret, and you can go for a hike on the Charity Valley Trail.
