You can run the rapids of Mono Creek near Mack Lake, and why not camp at Mosquito Flat Campground while you're here at Mack Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Marsh Lake. Mack Lake gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is June. Really magnificent       skiing awaits you at Mammoth Mountain, and you can go for a hike on the Sherwin Lakes Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. You might want to pay a visit to Little Lakes Valley while you're here at Mack Lake, and a tour to Devils Postpile National Monument is worthwhile. For the period of the long summer days at Mack Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's while overnight lows are regularly                  in the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Mack Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mack Lake without first going for a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail, and a wonderful close by hotel is Mammoth Creek Inn. Lake Inlet Campground is a great local campground. Lakes? Sure, Hidden Lakes is in close proximity. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. If you need a site to stay Mammoth Lakes Travelodge is a splendid choice; there's whitewater on San Joaquin River - South Fork for all you adrenaline people. Yeah, come here to Mack Lake for a great time.
