Now, you may believe that's heaps but there's even more fun things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lytton Lake is not the only site close by, Lake Angela is a close by lake, and Donner Ski Ranch is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. All through the days of summer at Lytton Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.       For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lytton Lake. Just can't get enough of Lytton Lake. Head up to Boreal and strap some skis to your feet; a nice nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Truckee, Ca. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Warren Lake Trail; you can stay the night at Van Norden Campground. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lytton Lake has to offer, you can camp                  at Onion Creek Campground; hiking along the Lola Montez Trail is brilliant fun. So much entertaining stuff to do at Lytton Lake, so little time. Whitewater paddling is great on Fordyce Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A pleasant visit to Sugar Bowl is a delightful way to spend an afternoon; Yuba River - South Fork has a splendid whitewater paddling spot nearby. And if that's not enough there's a heap more exciting stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. From Lytton Lake you obtain a perfect vista of Crows Nest; you can have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Painted Rock Trail. A good deal of rain falls at Lytton Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly January, that's the one that rains the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. After a long day outdoors The Inn At Truckee is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and if you get bored of Lytton Lake you could also visit close by West Lakes. This lake is so wonderful.
