Mal:
Saw a  rattlesnake on the track leading to the reservoir.

Kelly:
I was up there two weeks ago- 10-18-09,came in the back way(dirt road) and there were fish feeding up at the surface but did not have a pole so could not try my hand. Looked promising though- going back this weekend.

Me:
Go to the back side by where the river runs in... MURDER the trout on that end. Yes they do stock but it depends on what side of the lake you go to. If you have a 4x4 and a forest service map you can get to the good spots.

Kurt  Schmiegel:
Absolutely beautiful view, but there are thousands of mosquitoes, bring bug spray

Sam:
I was at the lake yesterday and no luck the water level is to high and don't think they stoked this year due to funds.

Rainbow Pool Campground
18 miles away
The pools are a sacred historical Cliff Diving spot more than anything else. The diving area is neglected and needs a cement platform and better egress to prevent slips. Body surfing over the falls is thinkable only in high volume waterflow (spring months), since the sharp ledge below the falls will split your skull open after August/ Sept. Be careful! NO GLASS pack your trash! JB...

Sand Flat Campground

Went there for the first time. It's definitely on the 'go back again' list. The road down is pretty rough. My explorer handled it with zero problem. I ran it in 2wd mode on the way back up just to make sure that a normal car could make it. The key to the road, known to the locals as 'Wolfboro road' is to take it very slow. Shift into low, and just let gravity lead you into camp. When I went, there were 2 'crossings' where you had to go into water. The water is not deep, just don't go plowing through and you'll be fine. On my way out, I was met with a Mitsubishi sedan making his way down. He was doing fine, although he was having to keep his speeds below 5mph...
