    If you are in San Mateo county it's always a good idea to stop by Lake Lucerne. Go for a hike on the Butano Ridge Loop Trail, and paddling on Pescadero Creek is so much fun. At Lake Lucerne through the summer months highs are in the 60's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; night lows in the 40's for Lake Lucerne. Lake Lucerne is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, Butano State Park is a glorious spot to camp  
   nearby, and a journey to The Mesa revives the soul.
Don't leave Lake Lucerne without first going for a hike along the Coyote Ridge Trail. It's a good idea to stop at Arroyo De Los Frijoles, it's in the vicinity of Lake Lucerne, and one of the best things about this spot is its proximity to Arroyo De Los Frijoles Beach. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Lakes? Sure, Bean Hollow Lake is in the neighborhood, and dry warm beds await you at
 
               Costanoa.
Lake Lucerne is a good location of normal rain; January is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is July. This lake is so wonderful. Spring Bridge Gulch is a good place to pop by in the neighborhood of Lake Lucerne; Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA is a perfect local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Ano Nuevo Trail is always a glorious adventure, and you can spend the day on the beach at Pebble Beach.
You have to take a look at Bolsa Point when you're here at Lake Lucerne, and if you need a location to stay Pescadero Creek Inn is a fine choice.
