Butte Creek Campground is a wonderful       campground nearby, and going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 16 is always a glorious adventure. From a rainfall point of view Lower Twin Lake is a quite typical location; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest month is July. Good hiking is available along the Childs Meadows Trail; perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Upper Twin Lake is just a very short distance away. Through the warmest time of the year here at                  Lower Twin Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Lower Twin Lake. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Lower Twin Lake. A great nearby hotel is Bailey Creek Cottages; if you haven’t been to Lassen Volcanic National Park, you have to schedule some time for it since you're here. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range.
