This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. That right there is loads already, but it continues; Lower Rock Lake has it all. If you need a location to stay Chalet View Lodge is a nice choice. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Yuba River - South Fork, and camping is available at Lindsey Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Poison Canyon is close to Lower Rock Lake and is       positively a tremendous site to visit; getting to Jackson Creek from Lower Rock Lake is painless. Lower Rock Lake is a place with many visitors from Truckee-Grass Valley, and Culbertson Lake is a wonderful lake nearby. Throughout the summer highs here at Lower Rock Lake get into the 90's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Lower Rock Lake temperatures plunge                  to the 20's. These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Drift down the rapids of Fordyce Creek in a kayak, and you can go for a hike on the Round Lake Trail. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike on the Crooked Lakes Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and the snow is great at Soda Springs. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of Bowman Mountain from Lower Rock Lake is beautiful, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Royal Gorge. Why not camp at Carr-Feeley Campground while you're here at Lower Rock Lake; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Bowman Mountain Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Lower Rock Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Deer Creek Inn. Lakes? Sure, Rock Lake is close at hand.
