Going for a hike along the Crooked Lakes Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; Poison Canyon is also a delightful place to discover. If you came to camp Carr-Feeley Campground is a great location to do that; whitewater paddling is good on Fordyce Creek. Lower Rock Lake is a good location of common rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain; July on the other hand is the driest.       This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Lower Rock Lake, you can go for a hike along the Round Lake Trail, and some of the water nearby flows, like Jackson Creek. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lower Rock Lake. Be careful coming to Lower Rock Lake, you might not ever want to return back home again. Get dripping wet paddling on Yuba River - South Fork, and Lower Rock Lake is a place with many visitors from                  Truckee-Grass Valley. If you need a place to stay Shinneyboo Creek Cabin Resort is a delightful choice, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Soda Springs. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lower Rock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lindsey Campground is a great place for that, and on a beautiful day you acquire a good panorama of Bowman Mountain from Lower Rock Lake. And that's not all there is to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Really good skiing awaits you at Royal Gorge; Lower Rock Lake is not the only site nearby, Bullpen Lake is a nearby lake. So much exciting stuff in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just tremendous. Hiking along the Bowman Mountain Trail is delightful fun, and dry warm beds await you at Rainbow Lodge. Throughout the warm months highs here at Lower Rock Lake reach the 90's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's.
