There's so much to do here at Lower Peters Canyon Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Doheny State Park is a nice site for that, and a lake nearby is Irvine Lake. Lower Peters Canyon Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Flying B Ranch is a great local campground; folks from Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana love to come here. Little Joaquin Valley is a great location       to spend some time at. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay National at Archstone Tustin is a tremendous choice, and good hiking is available along the Holy Jim Trail. Not much rain falls here at Lower Peters Canyon Reservoir; February is the month that gets the most rain while July is regularly the driest month. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the neighborhood of Lower Peters Canyon Reservoir will keep you coming back again and again.                  Going for a hike on the Morrow Trail is always a nice adventure, and an afternoon playing golf at Tustin Ranch Golf Club is always a delight. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors The Key Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and the skiing at Mt. Baldy is great. One of the overriding highlights of the surroundings of Lower Peters Canyon Reservoir is Red Hill, and naturally Hicks Canyon Wash is a gorgeous stream that is worth visiting. Go for a hike on the Joplin Trail, obviously you could also stop at Walnut Canyon Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all. High temperatures at Lower Peters Canyon Reservoir throughout the long summer days are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
