Lower Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; during December this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Near Lower Lake you hit upon the Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail which is a good hiking trail, and get drenched paddling on Eel River - North Fork. All year is a good time in the Coast Ranges if you adore the outdoors. There are fine places to look       at along the Ruth Hayfork Trail, and camping is available at Hickey Campground. So many fun things to do here in the Coast Ranges, too delightful to be true. Going for a hike on the Ben Arthur Trail is always a good adventure, and why not camp at Bailey Canyon Campground if you're here at Lower Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Upper Lake; if you need a place                  to stay Best Western Humboldt House Inn is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Lost Lake is close at hand, and the vista of beautiful Moose Peak is great. Summertime at Lower Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; night lows at Lower Lake all through the winter commonly dip into the 30's. Lower Lake is a beautiful lake in the Coast Ranges. Don't forget to take a good little spree to Pine Creek, and paddling on Eel River is so much fun.
