     This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail next to Lower Kinney Lake called the Charity Valley Trail; lakes are such serene spots, why not take a look at Upper Kinney Lake. Lower Kinney Lake generally gets a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that snows the most; July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Carson River - East Fork offers  
   some glorious whitewater, and Bear Valley has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff.
But wait, there's more to do near Lower Kinney Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Carson River - East Fork, and the summit of Black Dome can be distinguished from Lower Kinney Lake. There's so much to do here at Lower Kinney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hermit Valley Campground is a delightful place for that, and a trip to Bloomfield Meadow rejuvenates
 
               the soul. Just can't get enough of Lower Kinney Lake. If you need a spot to stay The Meadow is a great choice.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is so good! Dry warm beds await you at The Mountain Club, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is a splendid hiking trail nearby. Visit Elbow Creek if you're here at Lower Kinney Lake; going for a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail is always a great adventure.
Near Lower Kinney Lake you stumble on Ebbetts Pass which is a fine place to have a look at, and you'll discover a beautiful lake called Dorothy Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Lower Kinney Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lower Kinney Lake. Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more cool things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lower Kinney Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bloomfield Campground, and Kirkwood is a very popular ski area close by.
