This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Take a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13, and Dorothy Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. A journey to Ebbetts Pass is always fun, and Black Dome is beautiful and can be seen from here. Lower       Kinney Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; January is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month is July. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Gardnerville is a splendid site to spend a night or two, and why not camp at Bloomfield Campground while you're here at Lower Kinney Lake. Kirkwood is a delightful local ski area, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Carson River                  - East Fork. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Bear Valley is in the neighborhood of Lower Kinney Lake; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Burnside Lake Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Lower Kinney Lake. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lower Kinney Lake, you could also explore beautiful Upper Kinney Lake, and Bloomfield Meadow is a stunning site any time of year. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lower Kinney Lake. Elbow Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth checking out, and Carson River - East Fork has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Charity Valley Trail is splendid fun; if you came for an overnight stay Hermit Valley Campground is a brilliant place to camp. Throughout the warm months highs here at Lower Kinney Lake get into the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
