This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Tanners Peak Trail; the sight of stunning Caribou Mountain is nice. At Lower Caribou Lake during the summer highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lower Caribou Lake sink into the 20's. Lee Trail is always a splendid adventure. That right there is heaps of amusing things already but it goes on, the Klamath Mountains has it all. Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a good place close to Lower Caribou Lake. Whitewater
paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Trinity River - North Fork. Lakes? Sure, Caribou Lake is in the vicinity.
