    If you like lakes and you're in this part of California you can check out Lost Lake. That right there is a lot of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Coast Ranges has it all. Have a splendid hiking adventure along the Ruth Hayfork Trail, and Lost Lake is a wonderful location to visit for more than one day, Bailey Canyon Campground is a wonderful location to camp nearby. Lost Lake gets a lot of water; of all the months in a year December is the one with  
   the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture.
That right there is a lot already, but it keeps on going; Lost Lake has it all. The summit of Lake Mountain can be distinguished from Lost Lake, and hiking along the Ben Arthur Trail is good fun. This lake is so wonderful. Take a look at close by Rice Lake, and there's whitewater on Eel River - North Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers. Dry Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and there
 
               are some tremendous whitewater spots on Eel River.
At Lost Lake all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Lost Lake. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Coast Ranges. Indian Springs is always fun to check out, and do take a hike on the Ben Duncan Mailbox Trail. Lost Lake is a beautiful lake in the Coast Ranges.
This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Fir Cove Campground; while you're here, you could also stop at pretty Turtle Lake. Everybody loves Pine Flat, and Best Western Humboldt House Inn is a glorious site to get some rest.
