     Reds Meadow Campground is a fine campground nearby; if you've had enough of Lost Lake, Emily Lake is nearby. And that's not everything you can do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Hiking along the Sherwin Lakes Trail is nice fun, and a glorious close by hotel is Mammoth Mountain Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Minaret Falls Campground is a great local campground, and Mono Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby.
Just can't get enough of the Central Sierra
 
   Nevada. Everybody close by loves skiing at Mammoth Mountain, and probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Castle Lake is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. June Mountain is a nice local ski area, and a pleasant site for whitewater paddling is San Joaquin River - Middle Fork.
Summer brings highs in the 90's to Lost Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are regularly
 
               in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lost Lake. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Lost Lake. Why not go to nearby Shadow Creek while you're here at Lost Lake; do take a hike on the Mammoth Rock Trail. After a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a perfect location to spend a night or two, and why not take a refreshing hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2.
Lost Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. Lost Lake gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; January is the month that gets the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
