     Lost Lake gets a typical amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month of the year is June. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lost Lake. Bench Canyon is a great site to discover, and the skiing at June Mountain is perfect.
This lake is so wonderful. Lost Lake is not the only place close by, Cora Lakes is a
 
   close by lake; a wonderful place to camp here at Lost Lake is Granite Creek Campground. After a long day outdoors Heidelberg Inn is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and delightful hiking is available along the John Muir Trail - section 2. All through the warmest time of the year at Lost Lake temperatures are generally in the 90's, and the overnight is a little chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's  
               while the cold winter nights at Lost Lake are in the 20's.
Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Central Sierra Nevada. The John Muir Trail - section 1 offers hiking at its best; why not camp at Clover Meadow Campground if you're here at Lost Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stevenson Meadow is a tremendous place to check out, and don't forget to take a splendid little visit to Dike Creek. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lost Lake; Gaylor Lakes Trail is a perfect local trail, and if you need a spot to stay Mammoth Mountain Inn is a good choice.
You can run the rapids of Tenaya Creek in the vicinity of Lost Lake. So much amusing stuff in the Central Sierra Nevada, just phenomenal. A lake close by is Lily Lake; get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of San Joaquin River - Middle Fork.
