If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Bishop is a splendid choice, and you'll locate a pretty lake called Upper Horton Lakes. Longley Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you came for an overnight stay North Lake Campground is a delightful place to camp, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of San Joaquin River - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful.       Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Bishop, and a pleasant view of scenic Basin Mountain is available. So many enjoyable things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada, not enough time. If the weather is pleasant here at Longley Lake, you can go for a hike along the Kings River Trail, and do pop by Horton Lake, it's a striking lake. The John Muir Trail - Pacific Crest Section is a fine hiking trail right next door to Longley Lake, and a trip to Devils Postpile                  National Monument is worthwhile. At Longley Lake you don’t see much precipitation; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Mammoth Mountain is just what you need. At Longley Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 90's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's, and nighttime lows at Longley Lake through the wintertime usually drop into the 20's. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great earth it would be.
