The beauty of Long Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Charity Valley Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Plasse's Resort is a great spot to camp. Long Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Long Lake is great fun, Bear River Lake Resort is a great local campground.

| | whitewater on American River - South Fork for all you thrill seekers, and what would winter be without some skiing at Bear Valley. For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Long Lake get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. of the year is usually January, that's the one that snows the most, and July is when it's the driest.
You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Long Lake
without first going for a hike along the Hawley Grade Trail, and delightful scenery and wonderful skiing is what you acquire at Kirkwood. That right there is heaps of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada
has it all. A lake nearby is Black Rock Lake, and after a long day outdoors Bear Valley Lodge is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. Munson Meadow is a fine location, and there are tremendous places to explore along the Emigrant
Trail.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Mokelumne River - North Fork; a perfect nearby hotel is Mountain Adventure Seminars.
